RSCA Awareness Day with Inspiring Performances and Launch of ‘Blessings Cafe

The Rainbow Society for Differently Abled marked World Autism Awareness Day with a heartwarming celebration that showcased the incredible talents of children with autism and other disabilities. The highlight of the event was the grand opening of Blessings Café, a unique initiative run entirely by Divyangjan, symbolizing empowerment, inclusion, and opportunity.

The event was graced by the esteemed Dr. Shobha Phadke, Head of the Department of Genetics at SGPGI, who served as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and the creation of inclusive spaces that recognize and nurture the abilities of differently abled individuals.

A special musical performance by Benzy, a young woman with autism, captivated the audience. Benzy, a recipient of three National Awards by the Government of India and a two-time Limca Book of Records holder, delivered a soulful song that moved everyone present. Her talent and achievements stood as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the entire community.

Children from the Rainbow Society lit up the stage with a vibrant nukkad natak (street play), showcasing social messages about acceptance and inclusion. This was followed by a series of singing and dance performances, where autistic children displayed their remarkable skills and creativity, leaving the audience in awe.

The launch of Blessings Café added a new dimension to the event. Managed and operated by individuals with disabilities, the café aims to foster independence, skill-building, and community engagement. It stands as a testament to the belief that when given the right platform and support, every individual can shine.

The event concluded on a note of celebration, with parents, educators, and dignitaries expressing their appreciation and support for the efforts of Rainbow Society and the larger cause of disability inclusion.
